okay can anyone help me, I'm using linux mint and IBUS and I want to set my caps lock to be another escape key. Whenever I do this it works until I change keyboard layouts, because I need to swap between English (UK) English (US) and Japanese, fairly regularly. Is there any way I can get it to stick when changing layouts?

@Transbian_Arsonists@catwithaclari.net IIRC you can edit the layout file and change the key at the position of your capslock to be whatever you want, I don't know *how* to do that but I'm pretty sure you can do it

@Transbian_Arsonists@catwithaclari.net I guess the exact steps depend slightly on desktop, but in theory this should be possible? except for maybe japanese as I believe most IMEs take over input entirely I'm surprised the existing settings GUI doesn't keep this already... I guess you can try manually configuring this using uh, I think it was something something xkb...
