aaaand what distro should i choose? i'm vaguely familiar with ubuntu cuz my partner runs it, and i guess debian by extension, but otherwise i don't really know what the differences between these options are. my options are:
- ubuntu
- fedora
- debian
- centOS
- rocky linux
- AlmaLinux
- openSUSE

@bunnybeam@ck.catwithaclari.net all of my servers run debian i mostly prefer that over a lot of the alternatives due to how familiar i am with it having used debian and things based on it since middle school you cant go super wrong with a lot of these but debian is fairly low maintenance and is easy to find documentation for

@bunnybeam@ck.catwithaclari.net for a server, I would say ubuntu will cause the fewest headaches because most stuff should just work with it Alternatively, Debian is lighter, but packages are usually a bit more out of date :/
