Realized that having watched The Matrix Resurrections like three and a half years ago now, the aspect of the film which I think about most often is dead-ass the color grading.

to elaborate: I am not a colorgradologist but I'm p sure that any already-saturated colors were bumped to be extra saturated, and there's something going on with the midtones to make the lighting feel extra crunchy. Maybe some deliberate clipping of highlights in excess of the actual dynamic range of modern cameras. Cool for making a sensation of unreality without being overt enough for most people to really notice what's going on.
