@mads@fedi.mvpgame.dev oh my god ... thank you. It works. I lost a chunk of hearing in one ear suddenly in the shower one morning in July last year. It was replaced by tinnitus. Which for someone who is noise averse and loved absolute silence (think lockdown middle of rural Wales with no sheep)… the constant din is the pits.

@PeterMLittle@mas.to That sounds absolutely devastating, especially for it to be that sudden and disruptive. I'm so sorry you've had to deal with that. :( I feel like I'm weirdly lucky in that mine kicked in at some point as a kid (never have figured out exactly when or why), so I don't remember true silence well enough to miss it as badly as I otherwise would. Maybe one day science finds a way to give us our peace back, and til then, hopefully we can all find some relief with stuff like this.
