@inket@mastodon.social Yeah, I mean that if you can afford it, it's the among best in the world. But if you're poor you're worse off. I live in a medium size (blue) city in a red state. I also have a disabled/medically complex daughter. We have excellent care here, but I'm also a high earning software engineer with good insurance. I've never lived in Tokyo (lived on Kyushu, but I was single), but I don't think I'd want to raise kids there either. I have a friend in Chiba who has 5 kids. Seems very hard...
