Better:
* Stay sitting or standing for 2–3 hours after meals.
* Avoid eating a large meal close to bedtime.
* For sleep, try lying with your head and upper chest elevated, ideally by raising the head of the bed or using a wedge pillow.
* Lying on the left side may be better for reflux in many people.
But lying down itself is not “bad” in general. It mainly becomes a problem soon after meals, with reflux, bloating, nausea, or hiccups after eating.
