Raymond Chandler's advice to writers included 'When in doubt, send a man through the door with a gun' (or v. similar)
I have had cause to use it three times in the WIP. Although:
- transphobic autonomous armour
- ex-g/f joyriding a mecha
- tooled-up space vehicle
... And each time the story has got weirder and more fun.
(Although new SSRI hasn't helped)
