You can, however, disable issues entirely for the GitLab project and make the path to escalate issues perfectly clear in the README.
A more devious option could be to configure Codeberg as an external issue tracker. ๐

@yala@degrowth.social We considered both โ but that would rob us of the possibility to complete still open issues, as their authors could no longer "chime in" (nor could they "copy over" or "reference", without access). We also considered making the issue tracker "project members only" โ but then again, only we ourselves could participate in the still open ones. So for us, all cul-de-saq (dead ends).
