The process was fairly painful as you end up managing numerous sub-contractors yourself, which can be traced to the hustle-culture embedded into the Australian residential building industry. But ultimately - moving power generation away from fossil fuel corporations and the nation states they purchase, and into the hands of people and communities, is a good thing IMO.

@chickamora@mastodon.social @pluralistic@mamot.fr Australia has also less of the dodgy ‘no money down’ solar business models pioneered by Solar City et al. Our consumer protections are also stronger than in the US.
