I think the reason I didn't use "suggested" is because that implies that I actually chose Cray's pronouns based on their suggestion, which is not how it happened. I'm happy to change the wording to something else, as long as it doesn't distort the truth. Would "picked" or "selected" be any better? Edit: or how about "generated"? That's actually the literal truth.
