It's wild to me that anyone takes CBS statements on face value. I've seen a bunch of articles about how CBS ratings have tanked since Colbert was taken off the air. Are we supposed to act shocked that perhaps maybe CBS was I dunno, lying about why Colbert had to be canceled?!

CBS was sold to billionaire friends of trump that are getting all the laws they want passed right now. So they removed Colbert immediately. They have to dismantle and kill CBS news and especially 60 minutes too for their big beautiful boy president.
