@Siiin@pagan.plus definitely, such a heavy culture of repression in those days, makes total sense to me that it would cause neuroses en masse glad you’ve been appreciating them ! the book has been way more engrossing than I expected. I’ve read books *about* Jung’s theories but no direct source until now, was recommended to start with this one ! might go for the red book next?

@lake@autonomous.zone That's so wonderful I'm glad you've picked this one up! Archetypes & The Collective Unconscious is also great albeit extremely academic compared to his more personal writings. I'm not sure that there's necessarily a standard recommended order to read things things in, nor that I'm the authority on such a thing. However! The Red Book is amazing and I hope you can find a good copy. Basically the Black Books are these journals Jung kept for 30-some years on his dreams and other kinds of not-so-analytical experiences and then the Red Book is his accumulation of considerations or conclusions on what he experienced. It gets into his more spiritual breakthroughs but also there's some really wonderful art in it and it's just beautiful regardless of what lens you take to enjoy it through!
