The stupid thing is, when we moved in we thought we were on the city sewage line. Turned out we had an old septic tank. The line out to that was an ancient wrought iron thing. Been in the ground so long it had basically disintegrated and collapsed in several spots. Thought about complaining to the previous owner or the real-estate agent that sold the house to us, but at that point we'd been here more than 5 years.

That's a can of worms. At that point you've long since signed stacks and stacks of documents saying "AS IS."
