it was kinda sad when I started to realise that a lot of furries don't have a strong connection to nature. When I first started to be a part of it, I remember asking people reasons why they chose their fursona, expecting a long detailed essay about why they love that animal, and I was often met with indifference. Things like 'they look cool' or 'my friend picked it for me'

@midnakrystal@sadbitches.online I think there's a feedback loop; animals come to represent various architypes, just like they do in fairy tales. Foxes are "tricksters", cats are "wise", dogs are "loyal" etc. I chose a bull for Klay because i associate bull and cow furries with a sort of minotaur dungeon boss monster vibe.
