@jeffcliff@shitposter.world It is fascinating how long discussions can last in the field of philosophy. But that tends to happen in a field, where you have no immediate error correction in the form of empirical evidence.
Then, from time to time, the latest and greatest findings in science seep through, alter the course of the discussion in philosophy, and it then tries to integrate the new findinds.
The interplay between quantum physics and philosophy is a very interesting example for instance.

@h4890@merovingian.club for sure. and that stuff has only been really around for like a lifetime and abit. but yeah he goes through like a dozen and a half philosophers and goes through how and where science has intervened on their terf in that lecture series -- although like usual it's a little dry, and unfortunately(!) he had a nasty cold/flu/something so the sound quality is not great.
