@Wormwood@poa.st I remember when I first learned about HP Lovecraft and they praised him for "cosmic horror" where the horror is just about the reality of the universe and the existence of ancient gods that don't care about you. Then I actually read it and turns out it's all about race and societal decline. Almost all of it.
