Reading that scientists found out oxygen can be created on the ocean floor and are deciding to call it dark oxygen really just feels like they were tired of time spent on appropriate relevant names and were like IDK what we're supposed to call it it's dark down there call it dark oxygen if you can't think of anything else and move on already
