vegetable is just.. "part of plant that we deem appropriate for eating" and yet we all strongly feel as if that needs to stay a category despite this. and if not us, surely those less aware of foliage structures. they are all just plump stalks, roots, leafs, of various plants. modern strawberries are a fun one, being a french accident that crossed chilean and north american strawberries resulting in the current modern variant. best part is they aren't berries, but instead a swollen receptacle?
