@idzie@kolektiva.social I live in a verdant, fecund place with rolling red clay hills covered in white oaks, tulip poplars, and pignut hickories (and century-old human planted pecans). The understory is filled with mountain laurel, buckeye, azaleas, and dogwoods. Among them hop the brown thrashers and Eastern towhees, and ruby throated hummingbirds visit the flowers. We are in the shadow of a monzonite dome monadnock covered with loblolly pines struggling to hang on. Diamorpha blooms red in shallow depressions.
