They didn't prepare us for these questions in school. Instead, they cast them off as being absurd: How many angels can dance on the head of a pin? Now I am wishing that the professors had taken a crack at the possibilities of metaphysical malfeasance of various kinds, and helped us to develop a vocabulary for bringing it up when it is noticed, discussing it, and addressing how to deal with it once it has arrived.
