@axolotl_logic@hachyderm.io Yes these platforms are very good at making you feel seen, with all the 'likes' etc, but in practice the translation to real honest engagement is tiny - the platforms are also hyper-optimised for stopping you from engaging with anything outside of them.

@yaxu@post.lurk.org exactly! I have such a morbid fascination with marketing. I can't see anything but social engineering and stats, which brings it into the realm of interesting for me.
