@yvanspijk@toot.community Reminds me of how syllables in Cherokee are either not pronounced or have such weak stress on them as to sometimes be read as not saying them at all when certain combinations happen. I seem to recall numbers having an extra syllable that often isn't included in the spelling either.
I've also noticed something like this in certain Japanese phrases, but I don't know enough about the etymology of them to know if the weak stress or silent pronunciation is part of a similar trend.
