it's a problem. I'm left but I want everyone here except harassers. much of the left today considers views they disagree with and that which they consider misinfo to be so personally painful to encounter for some (or likely to lead to real world harm) such that cutting off access to it is proper for everybody. rampant defederating is justified.
many on the right also want to shut down voices they don't like, but they do it via edgelordism. saying rude shit so others leave or STFU.

@wjmaggos@liberal.city I honestly think a big problem is that we lost a lot of nuance in political discourse by just flattening it to left vs right. Things are so much more complex, but that so often gets lost because who has time for nuance when we need to cheer on our team.
