@ainmosni@berlin.social @Anke@social.scribblers.club That's collectivism vs. individualism; though those map very closely onto egalitarian vs. hierarchical, because the purpose of individualism is to gain an advantage over others (which is a goal provided by hierarchy) whereas the purpose of collectivism is to collectively move ahead everyone's well-being (which is an egalitarian measure).
Cases of individualism masquerading as collectivism notwithstanding (eg. authoritarian 'communist' governments).
