I don’t think Mormonism is a cult. It doesn’t have the antisocial tendencies or harmful effects on members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, for instance. While LDS scriptures describe events set in the Americas, seemingly involve tropes about Whites and Amerindians, and react against beliefs common in American Protestantism like sola fide and predestination, it is not as American-centric as Islam is Arab-centric, with its ingrained hostility to relying on translations of the Qur’an. One LDS thing I am a major fan of are the celestial rooms in their temples.
