But in todays political climate, the word "Liberal" refers to neo-liberals, which are basically conservatives with a few non-evil points of view. Likewise, even though libertarian means the pursuit of liberty, Libertarians are in the closet republicans who realize publicly identifying as republican would paint them in a bad light. Pointing out logical contradictions in party policy doesn't work on conservatives, because Hypocrisy is a FEATURE in the pursuit of more power for your in-group.
