Why is a grudge so hard to imagine?

For whales it’s got to be an art form, I think there’s even a novel about it Orcas figuring out a new strategy to hunt humpback whales, and humpback whales escalating by harassing orcas to the point of starvation, only seems like anthropomorphism to those who assume intent is uniquely human
