Yes, but that's what I mean: the amount of money on the other side is insane, so even with much higher per-dollar effect, a challenger still needs a considerable amount of money. The same old donors won't touch this until it's ruling the country, and there aren't nearly enough non-broke supporters to finance it with small donations, so someone will have to put at least part of his fortune on the line.

    if you are polong even with the expected candidate you can start making promises to get money.

    I dunno, if Casey was even, like, a county commissioner he'd have a regional base he could fundraise off of to at least get started. I've mentioned before that I'm probably the lowest elected plebe in the state, but even with my political anti-skills and negative political weight the role has put me in touch with "people who know people who know people".
