I have often found that, within the musing of theologians they rely upon vagary mixed with complexity. Like a mathematician who fills a white board with countless constructs to show 1 + 1 = 3. The layman stares on certain that this is error, this is folly, but he cannot isolate the error. Let not your heart be troubled by irrefutable reasoning. Instead, take a step back and deal with the issue holistically. Is the outcome bad? Is the outcome evil? Does your heart feel anger at injustice or despair for the damage that will be done? Then reject this teaching. Men crave to serve a higher law, they crave to serve something immutable. But, evil excels at turning ideals into chains of slavery. And, theologians excel at explaining why those chains are a good thing.
