Another things, over my life I have spent a great deal of time listening to religious leaders. First, I was trying to learn about God. But, eventually it became clear that a better question was, "Why is this person saying this, why is this person quoting this scripture? What does this person want me to believe?" And, well, there is a never ending about of error, and I don't want to waste my time addressing it. Instead, I want to point at something that is common among high level religious leaders right now. I've taken to calling it, "indirection". Concisely, indirection is communicating an idea to someone, without explicitly saying it. And this is indispensable for the modern religious leader. Because many of the ideas that they need you to have, to hold on to, to believe in, to act upon, are directly refuted by scriptures. A common pattern is to quote scripture and then without explaining it, start into a monologue. This causes people to interpret and internalize the modern contextual understanding of whatever was said in the quotations. The reverse can also be done, where they start an idea in the monologue, but without finishing it, they switch to another idea, or quote scripture, that is a seeming non-sequitur. It is about building momentum towards an idea, but not finishing it. You just need to build enough momentum towards the idea that when you switch, the listener is able to complete the idea on their own. In this way, people are conditioned to firmly believe and act on something in their heart, that if you called out directly, and they know the scripture. They would say, no, that isn't what I'm doing, that isn't so. I look at this ability that the modern religious leaders have mastered and think this could have only come from Satan, and it is Satan that has elevated them to these positions.
