Cybersecurity is a failure. It has turned the idea of personal computing back into a mainframe. Like computer security got stuck in the 1970s and never left. The idea that you or I might use a computer as a computation device in its own right is verboten in the Halls of Cyberism. Programming is done by The Other, and the messiness of product development, let alone learning or research, is simply forbidden. The only exception is the Excel programming environment, because the Cyberists know their game is up if they treat finance as they do everyone else.
