@Adorable_Sergal@hachyderm.io People were going from one corp owned enshittified thing to another. This is the thing I wanted people to listen to/understand back when Bsky was first starting up. Maybe people did realize it at day jump, but other instant gratification and complacency thought processes had already set in

@Catwoman69y2k@meow.social @Adorable_Sergal@hachyderm.io I think the broader thing is that most people just don't care about enshitification. They're so used to it that they just expect it as normal. So when you tell someone what's coming, it doesn't matter to them because they think everything is that way. Most of these people have also been told that alternatives like the fediverse are horrible, confusing, and that everyone on them is some form of obnoxious. Which is probably at least in part true, everyone tends ot overreact a bit when trying to protect others. But all of it adds up to the same ending. People go to spaces like BlueSky, Discord, etc, and evnetually hit the same brick walls of enshitification over and over while refusing to move to spaces where that isn't a thing.
