I've ruined this solera, but in the process I've learned how to do things right next time. Part of the structure is that the neck has to "ramp down" from the rest of the board such that it ends up 1.5mm lower. This allows the guitar's neck to have a similar angle relative to the body. I initially used a hand plane to make that slope (based on what I saw others doing), but I took too much off. What you see here is an attempt to use a sanding bar instead, which is what I'll use on the next try.
