@k8ie@toot.mcld.eu actually netbird and co (tailscale etc) have a functionallity that can be used for people where you need to be on vpn 24/7 (due to the supercookie on isp level (utiq in EU)). It's allow a remote access without needing to know your ip or open anything in the firewall. Allowing to self host home, even without needing to tweak your vpn.

@makeithappen5634@privacysafe.social true and I think this is a brilliant business decision giving the base of your product away for free if you're someone hacking away on your own infra and you need an always-on P2P VPN, you choose Netbird/Tailscale and get familiar with it since you already have a technical background, it's not unimaginable that you might get hired for a tech position and recommend Tailscale/Netbird as the VPN solution for your company since it works great for you at home giving the product to interested individuals for free is low-impact, it doesn't cost them much getting a company to buy your expensive business plan on the other hand is likely far more profitable and justifies using the free personal tier as an ad
