politicians who have the guts to say that if we properly funded* cycleways for even 3 years, nobody would have anything to complain about
* like, more than a rounding error in the transport and health budgets

When I’ve asked politicians why they’re not funding conservation or other useful work I express the requested budget in terms of metres of expressway. “For just five metres of expressway you could run this project for 3 years!!!” Gives them a bit of a pause. (And then they tell me it’s the RMA’s fault.) @airshipper@cloudisland.nz #NZpol
