*checks to see how much a return ticket would cost if I were paying for it* Crewe > Aberdeen [1197km]: First Open Return £575 [48p per km] Other tickets for comparison: First Saver £344.50 [29p per km] Standard Saver £181 [15p per km] The stupid thing about the Saver tickets: The First Saver I can't use because I'm catching the 07:09, and it has a 2V ticket restriction [valid from 09:30] which in the list is titled "CROSSCOUNTRY OFF PEAK" despite the fare being priced by... :avanti: West Coast... The Standard Saver however? Priced by :avanti: West Coast, but would be valid on the 07:09 train because the 2T restriction code is "Not valid on trains scheduled to depart before 04:15" so is therefore fine.
