I have a bad habit of wanting to buy classical board games like backgammon, reversi or chess despite not wanting to play any of them. The worst ones for me have been xiangqi and shogi because both seemed like more interesting types of chess at first glance. Well today I found out FreeBSD has both in the PKG system so I've had a couple of games against CPU opponents. First thing I learned was that thinking of them as "Chinese / Japanese chess" is deeply inaccurate.
