One was the journalist Linda Tirado, I remember.
She said even with "non-lethal" rounds, the police are SUPPOSED to fire at the ground in front of someone, and let the bullet bounce up into them. Because a direct hit still carries too much force.
In those protests, the police were violating policy by shooting directly at people. Sounds like ICE is doing that again now.

@Kathmandu@stranger.social @Procrvstinvtion@infosec.exchange @broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca I’ve been pleased to hear some TV reporters adopting the framing of “less-lethal” rounds (many years late to their literal job, but hey!), as nonlethal is a bit optimistic and there’s suggestion that framing makes both LEOs and the public more cavalier about their use.
