Of all the things Europeans can use to feel superior to Americans, cutlery etiquette shouldn't be one of them. That's some made up, classist bullshit that doesn't affect you in the slightest. You don't have to convert or "translate" anything in your head and you don't have to consider knowledge gaps, you just don't like the way it looks?
