The auto companies certainly have a troubled history in terms of delaying climate action, but it sure would have helped if their consumers would have pushed them through their purchasing choices imo so I don't blame them entirely.
I believe that if the union workers would have seen stronger demand for the EVs they were building that would have helped to convince the American electorate to have supported Democrats' efforts to transition off of fossil fuels a lot more.
