and if you're thinking this harms EU companies: yes, it harms - Newag (who brick trains that go to competitors repair yards) - VW (who sued the Dieselgate researchers) - BMW / Mercedes (who sell you subscriptions to unlock features built into your car) - Medtronic (who disabled / bricked machines after local repair / maintenance of ventilators during covid unless their expensive service was used) I think they're fair game. Fuck enshittification.

    Very good question at the end from the audience: "How do you convince governments that rely on import / export?" Freeing EU citizens from US big tech also frees American citizens from big tech. Everyone except the top 1% is a victim of walled gardens, and has to pay more to use them. Abolishing walled gardens by allowing jailbreaks democratizes power. Citizens in general get more power, more money, and therefore more purchase power. So removing jailbreak barriers increases the economy. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not entirely sure I got the TLDR of the arguments correct, but I think that's the gist.
