Sometimes you break machine needles, that's unavoidable, but I try to avoid breaking them in 3+ pieces. If the pieces are large enough, it's usually not a problem, but sliver-sized ones can be dangerous. This sliver zinged me in the face quite unexpectedly. Thank goodness for glasses! I shudder to think what a needle shard in the eye might do. I *think* I found all pieces. (If not, the rest are probably in my sock heel or something. Anyway, I'll be sure to vacuum really carefully.) #sewing
