dear video games, i think it's over between us. i just don't like you anymore. it's not me it's you, you've changed. every major title has an obnoxiously pretentious story, far too much dialog, way too many complicated subsystems, random fad shit that execs insisted be included, and an unhealthy fixation on "realism". you demand far too much space on my disk for ludicrously high-res assets i will never see (that still look like shit without buckets of costly post-processing) and irritating cheap-anime-dub-tier voice acting that i will never not skip. i'm looking to be distracted for a few hours, not commit to a fucking lifestyle complete with recurring expenses, meaningless tasks that repeat ad infinitum, and ten thousand wiki pages of required reading before your obtuse overwrought bullshit even begins to make sense. i would literally rather read a book. a nonfiction book, about idk math or some boring shit. because that would at least be somewhat fulfilling instead of feeling like a kafkaesque unpaid job. it's been this way for a decade or more. i've waited for you to pull through and you've only gotten worse. not to mention how awful your friends are to be around, let alone try talking to. call me when you're ready to pull your head out of your ass and stop trying to be a movie theater, a digital mall, and tax paperwork all in one. you're really really fucking awful at all of those. sincerely ps also vr is fucking stupid and will never go anywhere meaningful stop using up my disk space with that stupid bullshit too kthxbai
