i still don't get the "tatooine is a ripoff of arrakis" thing, as if there isn't a real ass desert planet practically next door to us. like homie if we playing that game it's *all* ripped off from edgar rice burroughs and ee doc smith. except none of it is "ripped off" because taking influence isn't plagiarism, it's literally part of how making art works. anyway dune is boring as shit, and i literally don't believe 90% of dune fans have actually bothered trying to read it.
