@chipperdoodles@chaos.social we would be happy to take a DS with a broken hinge - hinges can be fixed! and, if your girlfriend is willing to part with the PS2 that would be excellent - we're looking to have some backup parts as the mechanical bits fail in ours. though also - if she wants to keep it, and the only thing wrong is the optical head, the replacement is pretty easy and only costs about $20.

@mediaarchaeologylab@post.lurk.org great! fixing up broken old stuff is something I love dearly. I'll dust the ds off and make sure it's working. Would you need the charger as well? The PS2 has physical damage, it looks like the front plastic of the drive bay was broken off, maybe someone tried forcing it open. my partner won't be home till later. I can take a picture if you'd like. Also would you need the power brick and/or a/v cables?
