@ayoub I would like to know what he exactly did, what he and other said at that vigil. It is never attending a vigil that will cause you to be terminated. But if antisemitic language was used, or calls for the dissolution of Israel (which would mean death for colleagues in Microsoft Israel) then dismissing the employee is justified. Calling the operation a “genocide” is also wrong since it does not bear all the traits that are required for a genocide, and has not been proved. Using that language is also an implicit invite for international retaliation against the state of Israel, which, since the claim is not proven, is an incitement for war. He also accused his own employer of empowering a genocide. This is rightfully cause for termination, and the matter can be then resolved in a court. But, if he believes MSFT is empowering a crime against humanity, why did he not resign first? Only because he would not get media exposure. I am expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people, which are victims of Hamas and caught in between with the Israeli retaliation. I wish a peaceful resolution for them and for the Israeli. I am quite sure that I will not be fired for stating this. If I pledged for the destruction of, say, Luxembourg, I would be rightfully terminated. I am absolutely sure this employee did not just “attend a vigil”. That would be harmless.
