The cost of things sometimes bewilderes. We had a covered, screened deck built in place of a dilapidated uncovered deck. $50,000. Kitchen remodel that essentially replaces what was with updated, functional and attractive, $86,000. Different construction methods, I get, but creation vs replacement I wouldn't have thought to have been so disparate. The on-line estimates from Angie's and the like are so out of whack as to be a disservice to the public.
