@ariadne@social.treehouse.systems Thalys used to be much cheaper than Eurostar, but of course Eurostar absorbed Thalys and jacked up the rates. There’s going to be competition to Eurostar from Virgin, Trenitalia and Renfe in a couple of years from London, but it’s unclear if competition for the Brussels and Amsterdam routes will arise since the French state is the major shareholder of Eurostar.
