@TagYourToe@mastodon.social asking people to urge their reps to not cave on a bad deal is such a grave sin, oh my. If dems keep capitulating they should not be rewarded for it. It sounds like you're of the opinion we should just let them do whatever once they're in office because it would be bad optics to hold them to any kind of standard. Democrats need to have some actual party unity and learn the meaning of the word opposition. They're pretty good at virtue signaling, sending letters, and ceding ground at the moment. Dems should be against everything the Republicans are doing, no compromises. Until they learn that, the Republicans will continue walking all over everyone. Their whole MO has basically been to make a show of resisting and then throw their hands up after they've given in saying "we tried nothing and we're all out of ideas". I want them to succeed but they won't do that by operating the same way they always have. It's a different world now.
