Never wore one as a kid (they weren't a thing).. I see soooo many people without them.. assuming they all think "it won't happen to me"... yet when it does... you'll be grateful! Grazed knee.. grazed and bruised elbow... stiff neck... would also have had a rather scuffed up face/head (felt the impact on the ground for sure!) Might need some work on/a new derailleur (it hit the deck pretty hard)... but picked up my bose pods, grabbed the bike and rode off... could have been plenty worse!
